Christopher Donnelly lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. He studied Art History at the University of British Columbia, Fine Art and Industrial Design at Emily Carr University, and Sculpture at the Capilano University Art Institute. He has exhibited in Vancouver since 2007.
Christopher’s work blends personal and art-historical motifs, found objects, architectural elements and drawing techniques to create sculpture and spatial compositions. His work explores perception, the play of visual-spatial experience, and the sensual and physical properties of materials. The artist’s approach to his sources, ideas and materials has, over time, generated a primary vocabulary of sculptural elements and visual themes which recursively appear in different works and situations.
